Paying Rent

For your convenience, we have several methods by which you may pay your rent.  It is important to remember that rents are due on the 1st day of every month, but are not considered late if paid by the 5th day of the month at or before 5 p.m. (regardless of whether the 5th falls on a weekend or holiday).  We accept personal checks, money orders and cashier’s checks made out to Syrus Properties, Inc.  Please include your apartment number and building name or address on your check.

1. 1. e-Pay through your tenant portal.
   2. MAIL:  You may mail your rent to our main office in Novato at the following address:

1. DROP OFF:   You may drop your rent off at our main office at the address noted above (there is a drip box for after hours).
2. AUTO BILL PAY:    Most banks offer free online automatic bill pay.  This is a great way to pay your rent, but there are some things to consider if you choose this method:
   1. It generally takes 6-8 days from the time your payment leaves your bank to the time that we receive the check in our office.  With this in mind, you must set the payments up to leave your bank around the 25th to 28th of the prior month in order to ensure timely receipt by the 5th of the month.
   2. The checks we receive are very generic and do not always include the information we need to credit your payment to your account.  It is very important that you enter an account number for your payment and the account number should include the name of your building and your unit number.  If you choose to use this method, please feel free to give us a call and we can help you with the account number.
